Whole School

Value of the Month

We have come together as a staff and made a list of the 10 most important values we feel most reflect our school.

Each week assemblies on a Monday and a Tuesday reflect the value chosen for that month.  In our celebration assemblies on a Friday we will be celebrating children that have shown that value.

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you for your kind donations of shoe boxes and items to send to children across the world this Christmas. The school council packed up some class boxes, bringing our total up to 30 boxes this year which is fantastic!

UPDATE (January 2017): we have just heard that our class boxes’ barcode was scanned in Romania, meaning that our donations brought love and hope to children in Romania at Christmas. To find out more about Romania and see some photos of children receiving boxes there, please see this link:

The NED show came to us in assembly and told us a story using Yo Yos.  The story and message was both unforgettable and  entertaining.

Science Festival

9 Year 5 and 2 Year 6 children had the opportunity to visit Ridgeway Secondary school and participate in The Swindon Schools Primary Science Festival.  They presented their work and were worthy winners of first prize!

Space Talk

Year 2 have been learning all about Space and what a perfect time with Tim Peake in space.  Children in Year 2 were given homework all to do with their space topic.  Amelia in Year 2 had been tweeting Tim (through her mums account!) to show him the homework she had produced and after the 4th attempt he replied!  It was all very exciting and Amelia ended up on the radio talking about that very tweet.

World Book Day

We has a great time on World Book Day, we all dressed up and had great fun guessing what character we each were.  We all took part in lots of activities and some of the teachers even put on a play for us!  They acted out a book called 'The day the crayons quit.'  It was very funny!

Open Evening

A big thank you to all the parents who came to Open Evening. It was lovely to see so many of you and the children thoroughly enjoyed showing off what they had been doing.

Recorders Assembly

Well done to all the children who performed in front of the school and their mums and dads playing their recorder.  Some of the beginners had only been learning since September!

Year 1 Family SEAL assembly

Year 1 performed a play called 'It's good to be me' to their mums and dads.  This was to introduce Family SEAL to them.

KS1 Christmas Play

On Wednesday 7th October Gayle Bryon visited to lead us in our Harvest Festival Celebration. She told a story from the Bible about thankfulness and appreciation. Mrs Cowell thanked all the children for supporting our friends at the Swindon Food Bank by kindly donating to this years ‘Coin on a Can’ Appeal.

We are looking forward to hearing how much money we raised for the Food Bank and how many meals we have provided for needy people in our local community.
